History of the School

History of the School

The school began in 2002 on the plot that originally housed the Newman hostel. The building's annex which functioned as the dining hall was given a make over and this is where the school's kindergarten started. This gradually grew all the way to hold classes up to fifth standard.

The school as you see it now, was begun on the adjoining block,  the foundation stone for which was laid by  Rev.Dr. Mathew Chalil CMI, the Provincial, on 30th March 2005, at 4.00 p.m. Fr.Paul Chakkanikkunnel CMI, the manager, presided over the function. The Devagiri CMI Kindergarten was blessed on the occasion.

Devagiri CMI school, which begun with lots of hopes and dreams five years ago, is now well entrenched in the educational landscape of Calicut. But it has not been without a lot of hardwork. We have crossed each bridge when we came to it. We have taken the challenges head-on and we look back with quite pride on what we have achieved.
